About Us
Umeda Arts Theatre UK Limited is a London-based theatre production company. Established in February 2025, we are the UK subsidiary of Umeda Arts Theater Co., Ltd., one of the most prominent theatre production companies in Japan.
Umeda originally began its journey in 2004 in Osaka. The operation of our two theatres in the cultural heart of the city quickly established our name as a leading presence in the Japanese theatre industry. As a proud member of the Hankyu Hanshin Holdings Group, we continue to build on 
a legacy of artistic excellence and innovation.
In 2007, our Tokyo office was opened – a bold move at the time, when we were seen as newcomers from outside the capital. What began as a small venture soon grew into one of Japan’s most respected producers, known for our diverse and boundary-pushing productions. Looking ahead, we are opening a new theatre in Tokyo in 2029 as a vibrant new home at the heart of Japan’s theatre scene.
Now, as we begin our new chapter in the United Kingdom, we hope to bring that same spirit – a fresh voice and vision – to the global stage.

Main Hall,
Osaka
Located in Osaka, Japan, the Umeda Arts Theater Main Hall is a grand venue featuring a three-tiered auditorium with 
a capacity of 1,905 seats. Renowned for both its versatility and elegance, it provides an exceptional setting for the performing arts.
Thoughtfully designed to host a wide variety of large-scale productions—from blockbuster musicals to unforgettable concerts—the hall continues to captivate audiences with world-class experiences.
Theater Drama City,
Osaka
Located in Osaka, just beneath the Main Hall, the Theater Drama City is an intimate venue with a capacity of 898 seats. Celebrated for its inviting atmosphere and refined design, it provides an ideal setting for plays and smaller-scale productions.
The auditorium’s gently sloped, continuous seating ensures clear views from every seat, while its close proximity between the stage and audience creates a uniquely immersive experience. With its balance of comfort, elegance, and intimacy, the Theater Drama City offers the perfect stage for works that thrive on connection and nuance.

In 2029, Umeda Arts Theater will open a brand-new theatre 
in the heart of Tokyo. Located just steps from Tokyo Station, the 1,300-seat venue is designed to become a landmark destination for world-class entertainment.
Drawing on decades of expertise from operating two acclaimed theatres in Osaka, Umeda Arts Theater will bring 
its signature standard of excellence to audiences in Tokyo. With its prime location and international outlook, the new theatre will welcome visitors from across Japan and 
around the globe.
